One tip is that in cinematic mode, the aperture value is automatically selected, but even if you manually increase it to F4.0 or higher, you can enjoy a sufficiently dramatic focusing effect. Of course, “post-correction” is also possible through the editing function, so if the border looks a bit unnatural, it would be a good idea to adjust this part.
Cinematic mode is a function that I use to adjust the focus between products to increase immersion in the subject, as I usually take a lot of review shots. It has been possible to implement it in mirrorless or DSLR cameras, but now it is also possible on the iPhone. The level of immersion suddenly revives.
When shooting an actual video, when a new subject, such as a person or animal, enters the focus, the focus can be automatically changed (of course, it can also be fixed) and gaze is recognized, so when the person in front turns to look at another person, the focus is focused that way. This also follows.
It's a bit disappointing, but considering you can easily take pictures and share them with your phone, it's totally awesome. Another advantage was that the focus and depth of field could be adjusted through post-processing, allowing the video to be recreated with a decent quality.

Macro mode

photo style
A photo style feature has also been added. You can select several options in Settings > Photo Style, but you can set the color tone you like and use it. I like the default colors of the iPhone camera settings, but everyone has different tastes.
So, when you go to the photo style settings, you can slightly adjust the tone and color to always take a photo with that tone. Once you set it, it will remain set until you change it, and you can think of it as changing the original iPhone camera settings.

Since you can modify the tone and warmth in detail, you can change it up in detail even if you choose a specific style. This function is quite different from the filter function. Depending on the adjustment, the color can change quite a bit. In the case of the iPhone, the A15 chip is significantly involved in camera processing, and even at the moment of shooting, machine learning produces photo results by quickly checking landscapes, people, streets, backgrounds, etc., so unwanted images occur when filter effects, etc. are applied. This is a function that complements changes in the subject, the face of the person, etc.
To put it simply, when you apply a filter effect, the tone of the person usually changes, but if you set the photo style well, you can always take photos with the look you want and see the person's skin tone, etc. as they are. I like the iPhone's unique colors, but you can use it with more detailed settings to suit your taste.
The iPhone 13 Pro can definitely be considered a fun phone to use, but the new features are easy to use and I think that if you use it more and use it more, you will be able to take more special photos or videos. At this level, it seems to be more useful than most mirrorless cameras, so I will continue to use it in various ways and provide another review.
